Architecture of the main churches of Coatepec, Ver.

Abstract

This research examines the architecture of the principal churches in Coatepec, Veracruz. It highlights the importance of cultural assets as components of both tangible and intangible heritage. The study explores cultures through their material contributions, represented by movable and immovable heritage. It also examines intangible cultural heritage, which encompasses the non-material dimensions rooted in the qualitative aspects of culture.

Through the documentation and assessment of tangible heritage, it is possible to identify and evaluate monuments and other archaeological remains that bear witness to the historical development of communities. These cultural assets have been preserved through the restoration and conservation of religious buildings and structures, which continue to house significant architectural contributions worthy of preservation and scholarly study, thereby sustaining the historical memory of both urban and rural areas of Mexico.

This study focuses on the technical assessment of the architectural and aesthetic values embodied in the theme "Conservation of Historic Heritage in the Contemporary City," a topic of national significance.
